Show Abstract
This paper presents a survey of articles that address the topic technological demands. The study was conducted using a scientometric analysis in order to identify the main actors and institutions that discuss the topic, as well as the main categories, keywords, the temporal evolution of the published articles, the main cited references, the network of collaborating institutions, co-authorship and keywords. The procedures performed were: (1) defining the search term more suitable for the data extraction related to technological demands; (2) extraction of data on Web of Science (WoS) basis; (3) selecting and organizing data of publication year, Web of Science categories, authors, affiliate institutions, keywords and cited references; (4) selection of only the data related to articles published in journals, excluding other records; (5) analysis of scientific production. We analysed 246 articles covering the period from1968 to 2013 . The main results showed that the topic is still not consolidated. The maximum number of records per author is limited to two articles and almost 50% of the records have authors affiliated to only one institution. On the other hand we observed a growing interest in the subject from the increased number of publications over the years.
