Show Abstract
This article aims to identify whether corporate university (CU) contributes in the retention of team leaders who work at an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital located in the metropolitan area of São Paulo. In order to do so, this research has taken a qualitative approach, , being interviewed seven leaders with action in the ICU. Results show that there is considerable evidence of the impact the program has in the performance of leaders with their subordinates. The most significant contributions this program appears to have in these professionals’ career development are the adoption of a performance indicator tool, the work done on interpersonal skill development, especially the leadership development program. To conclude, the corporate education program implemented in this hospital contributes effectively in the retention of its ICU team leaders. Moreover, CU goes beyond developing professional competencies and designing strategies.
