Show Abstract
This research has analyzed the impact of absenteeism through the costs and types of absenteeism present in a productive unit of an agroindustry based in Santa Catarina. This research is descriptive and has been done through a case of study with a quantitative approach. The data was collected during the first semester of 2016, through a documentary analysis. The secondary information was collected in a database corresponding to approximately 1,500 employees from the analyzed company. The outcomes show that, among the types of absenteeism present in the organization, legal absenteeism is the one with the highest number of occurrences, with 29.86%, followed by absenteeism due to illness (22.07%) and professional pathology (6.24 %). With regards to the costs, the economic impact of absenteeism reflects in the company's results, and in the production process it is monetarily representative, consequently, it reflects in the cost of the final product traded by the organization.
