Show Abstract
This study aimed at verifying the relationships between the Production Planning and Control (PPC) and the Organizational System in a net of hemocenters (banks of Blood) in the State of Santa Catarina. The used method was the case study of an exploratory-descriptive type research of qualitative nature. The data were collected through non-participant observation and of semi-structured interviews, with employees of different sectors, besides a bibliographical and documental research. The content analysis was used as technique of data analysis. Categories were extracted from PP&C theory. The results pointed to products and standardized processes, programmed locally due to historic demand reports and were limited to the collecting and processing capacity. Adjustments for larger dimension, or due to emergencies, are proportionate for the structure in the net, what allows compensations among their components. The adjustments of smaller dimension happen as a consequence of donation campaigns. PP&C lives together with rigidities due to the importance of the final product and of the instability in obtaining the raw material and the relative proportionate flexibility for the net.
