Show Abstract
The purpose of this text is to demonstrate, in part, the expressiveness and importance that Dr. Alexandre de Padua Carrieri, Full Professor in the Administration Course of the Economic Sciences School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, has regarding Organizational Studies in Brazil. His expertise and peculiar characteristics are presented from a particular point of view, that is, from my work experience and at a personal level. However, in the years of proximity to Professor Carrieri, and also to Alexandre as a human being, I could see the dedication and passion he has in providing learning and making research. A brilliant man, excellent character, with sublime values and a lot of respect for others. Academically admirable. This is how I can define him initially, but it is also worth emphasizing that, even though he is a critic of exacerbated productivism – when it is meaningless – Professor Carrieri is a professional of expressive production, having contributed, throughout 16 years, to the publication of 185 articles in most journals in the area. He has also organized 11 books of important impact for Organizational Studies. He has written 56 book chapters. He has produced 97 full papers published in congress proceedings, 12 expanded abstracts and 75 abstracts. He has presented 49 works in events of the area. He has mentored 30 master’s dissertations, 22 doctoral theses and a postdoctoral supervision. He has participated in 74 research projects and has coordinated 34 of them. In short, he is a critic and a performer.
