Percepção de valor nos anúncios de terceirização de infraestrutura de TI: um estudo de eventos com empresas brasileiras Outros Idiomas

Na literatura de estratégia, a contratação de terceirização de Tecnologia da Informação (TI), especialmente a infraestrutura de TI, não é considerada  diferencial competitivo devido à padronização desse tipo de tecnologia. Por estar plenamente disponível a qualquer empresa, a literatura prevê que esse tipo de terceirização não deveria ser capaz de gerar valor diferencial entre organizações. Por outro lado, a contratação pode permitir a potencial liberação de recursos da organização visando a concentrar-se em suas atividades principais, o que pode gerar maior eficiência de alocação de recursos, e a literatura econômica contempla essa possibilidade. Para testar qual dessas explicações seria prevalente no caso das empresas brasileiras que contratam terceirizações de infraestrutura de TI, este estudo conduziu, por meio da técnica de estudo de eventos, a análise do impacto sobre a percepção de valor de mercado das empresas que anunciaram esse tipo de contrato entre 01/01/2001 a 31/08/2010. Os resultados mostraramevidências de que a terceirização desse tipo de tecnologia por empresas de capital aberto no Brasil é percebida pelo mercado como fonte de geração de valor diferencial, aumentando a expectativa de lucros futuros, o que se reflete positivamente em seu valor de mercado. Implicações gerenciais são discutidas e propostas de estudos futuros são apresentadas.
