Resumo:
A complexidade inerente à Estrutura Matricial e sua aplicabilidade às chamadas organizações inovativas constituem na atualidade um dos assuntos de extremo interesse. Neste estudo são analisadas as principais características desse tipo de estrutura em algumas Instituições de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Industrial, características essas que parecem constituir as razões da adoção do formato Matricial por tais organizações.
Resumo Inglês:
The main objective of this work was to investigate, in a structured manner, the characteristics of the Matrix Structure in selected industrial Research and Development Institutions. A set of factors was designed to facilitate a measurement of these characteristics, and a simple field research was undertaken. As a result, it was possible to indicate some of the reason that make the Matrix Structure a highly usefull organizational form for R & D work, particularly in actual situation of this field in the national context. Finally, some propositions were pointed out for future investigation.
