Management systems in occupational health and safety at work supporting accidents prevention and occupational diseases
Resumo:
É cada vez mais notória a necessidade das organizações em inserir boas práticas de segurança e higiene ocupacional, pois além de serem importantes para evitar acidentes e garantir a saúde dos trabalhadores, tem como “produto” a motivação e o comprometimento dos colaboradores. O objetivo da atual pesquisa é identificar a importância dos sistemas de gestão no auxílio à prevenção de acidentes e doenças ocupacionais, tendo como base a análise da composição dos principais sistemas de gestão em segurança e saúde,principais normas referentes ao tema, tais como a OHSAS 18001 e o BS 8800. Para tanto foi realizada uma análise da composição desses dois sistemas e a forma que as inspeções podem ser utilizadas nas organizações a fim de identificar os perigos e contribuir para a proteção da saúde dos trabalhadores. Como resultado obteve-se a relevância dos parâmetros pró-ativos frente aos parâmetros de sinistralidade, comumente utilizados nas organizações para fins de segurança no trabalho. Pode-se observar que tais parâmetros pró-ativos incentivam a busca das causas dos problemas, controlando não apenas os acidentes, mas verificando a conformidade das atividades de controle do Sistema de Gestão de Saúde e Segurança (SST) da organização.

It is every more notorious the need of organizations to insert good practices of occupational health and safety because besides they are important to avoid accidents and guarantee the employees health, they also have as their “products” the motivation and the commitment of them. This research aims identify the importance of management systems supporting accident prevention and occupation diseases, based on analysis of main management systems composition in safety and health through the main standards remaining the systems as OHSAS 18001 and BS8800. For this study was conducted an analysis of both systems compositions and how the inspections can be used in organization to identify dangers and contribute to employees‟ health protection. As results were obtained the relevance of the proactive parameters when compared to accident parameters, that is usually used in organizations for purposes of work safety. It can be observed that the parameters encourage the search of the problems causes, controlling not only the accidents, but also verifying the conformity of control OHS activities of the organization.
