Institutional Complexity in Credit Cooperatives: a Case Study
Resumo:
As cooperativas de crédito são norteadas por princípios, e regulamentada por diversas leis, circulares e resoluções. Estas operam num ambiente repleto por diversas lógicas institucionais, o que o torna complexo. Neste estudo se buscou compreender como está configurada a complexidade institucional nas cooperativas de crédito, centrais e periféricas, pertencentes à Sicredi Paranapanema PR/SP no ambiente em que estas estão imersas. Para tal, realizou primeiramente uma etapa quantitativa, que visou apresentar a centralidade da rede de relacionamentos da Sicredi Paranapanema PR/SP. A segunda etapa foi cunho de qualitativo, em que realizou um estudo de caso comparativo em quatro cooperativas de crédito, duas cooperativas centrais e duas cooperativas periféricas. Os resultados evidenciaram que o ambiente das cooperativas de crédito é permeado por diversas lógicas institucionais e que algumas dessas lógicas institucionais estão em conflito, ou seja, a complexidade institucional está configurada em todos os casos estudados.

Credit Cooperatives are guided by principles and regulated by various laws, circulars and resolutions. These operate in an environment replete with various institutional logics, which makes it complex. This study sought to understand how the institutional complexity of credit cooperatives, central and peripheral, belonging to Sicredi Paranapanema PR/SP in the environment in which these are immersed is configured. To do this, it first performed a quantitative step, which aimed to present the centrality of the network of relationships of Sicredi Paranapanema PR/SP. The second stage was qualitative, in which a comparative case study was carried out in four credit cooperatives, two central cooperatives and two peripheral cooperatives. The results evidenced that the credit cooperative environment is permeated by several institutional logics and that some of these institutional logics are in conflict, that is, institutional complexity is configured in all cases studied.
