Impacts of terrorism on tourism in Paris and New York
Resumo:
O artigo apresenta reflexões sobre o terrorismo e seus impactos no turismo mundial; identifica algumas razões pelas quais pontos turísticos tornaram-se alvos dessas ações; destaca duas regiões que recentemente sofreram com os atentados e como tais regiões estão contornando essa crise, tomando como estudos de caso o atentado às Torres Gêmeas em Nova Iorque, em 2001, e o ocorrido na capital francesa, em novembro de 2015. Conclui-se que há carência de estudos sobre o tema que enfoquem questões culturais, que ultrapassem a questão da política internacional e militar das nações
Resumo Inglês:
The article shows some reviews on global terrorism as well as its impacts on global tourist activity; it identifies some reasons why touristic points has become target of these actions; it treats about two regions that recently suffer with attacks and how these regions are bypassing this crisis, having as case studies the terrorist outrages to World Trade Center, in 2001, in New York and the occurred in French capital in 2015 November. It concludes that there is a lack of studies on this issue that focus cultural themes, surpassing nations’ international politics and military issues.
