As pesquisas recentes revelem que as empresas enfrentam dificuldades grandes ao avaliar a contribuição de valor da estratégia dos investimentos em tecnologia da informação (TI). Um dos principais obstáculos é estabelecer a relação e quantificar os benefícios dos investimentos em TI com os objetivos estratégicos organizacionais. Esto é muito difícil para as organizações .O objetivo deste artigo é definir uma abordagem para avaliar o alinhamento dos portfólios de projetos de TI com a estratégia organizacional. Nesta abordagem utilizou-se o Mapa Estratégico para definir a contribuição de valor dos portfólios e a técnica Análise Envoltória dos Dados (DEA) para avaliar a eficiência dos portfólios de projetos.
