Show Abstract
The union movement has been suffering in the last few years the
restructuring impact in the production sphere. The so called
globalization has brought modifications to the work market, affecting
the union conduct and procedure in its multiple dimensions. Observing
these changes more deeply on the political field, it is in the unions’
daily lives that we are able to notice more clearly the advances and the
falling back caused by such an impact. Looking under this perspective,
the present paper intends to analyse the way we see the organizational
format in the context of the biggest Brazilian unions placed in the
cities of Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo,
considering their managers’ perspective, who are directly linked to the
organizational routine. This paper is structured this way: the first
part, which is more conceptual, tries to place the discussion in a
broader way, taking the existing context and the fundamental factors for
an union action. At this point, aspects related to the union new
demands and their impact are discussed. Second, the organizational
dimension is understood as an important part of the analysis, allowing
us to take part at the demanded formats and their impact on the
administration. Finally, methodological aspects are pointed out trying
to delineate the way by this system and its nuances. The results found
in both steps of data gathering, their analysis and the later
construction of a group of final considerations, allow us to clear up
the views over the union dynamics related to its organizations and
existing formats.
