This research paper seeks to elucidate the intersections between the field of public administration and international processes. It commences with the premise that this particular area of study remains relatively unexplored within the Brazilian academic context, especially from the vantage points of administration and public management. Firstly, we contend that the integration of the State into the framework of the capitalist world-economy unveils instances of interference between these institutional dimensions. Subsequently, we posit that governance processes encompass the activities of international organizations on one facet and public administration on the other. In conclusion, we construct a narrative that delves into the infiltration of the New Public Management (NPM) paradigm in Brazil, portraying it as an outcome of international dynamics. The principal contribution of this study lies in the establishment of a theoretical-epistemic nexus between the local and the global, in the context of shaping State management procedures.

Training and qualification of human resources as determinants of technical efficiency of bank branches

This study analyzes whether the training and qualification of human resources carried out by the Banco do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul are determinants of the technical efficiency of the branches. For this study, a survey of 393 agencies distributed in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, was used. For this purpose, the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method was used to verify the internal efficiency and a linear regression model. The study indicated that the hours of training and qualification are determinants of the technical efficiency of Banrisul's branches. The external variables that most influence the efficiency scores are branches located in Porto Alegre, population and economic activity related to agribusiness. The study also identified that the variable hours of training and qualification is the input that most influences the increase in the pure technical efficiency score of the branches. These findings contribute both from a theoretical point of view, given that few studies measure the effect oftraining and qualification on the level of efficiency of organizations, and from an empirical point of view, as they establish procedures that allow quantifying the impact of investments in human resources on performance of organizations.

This study aims to analyse the meaning of work for people with disabilities (PwD), civil servants of a federal institution of higher education (FIHE), based on theoretical models focused on understanding the meaning of work composed of three dimensions: individual, organizational, and social. This is a qualitative, descriptive research, conducted from semi-structured interviews with 17 PcD public servants, selected from the snowball technique. The analysis occurred through qualitative content analysis, with Atlas.ti software. The analysis reveals a meaningful work in the individual and organisational dimensions, allowing personal satisfaction, recognition and self-fulfilment. But, there is a lack of meaning in the social dimension, with unfavourable social environment (interpersonal relationships), discrimination (ableism) and an environment that is not accessible to PwDs (lack of accessibility). The study makes a theoretical contribution by suggesting the incorporation of the topics/themes of empowerment and accessibility into the social dimension of the models for analysing the meanings of work, thus expanding the scope of future studies that will analyse the meanings of work in the field of diversity.

The creative economy and sustainable development are associated by their centrality in the human being, through the use of creativity as a resource and the challenge of eradicating poverty. The present research aims to analyze the existing scientific production of the association between creative economy and sustainable development in the period from 2001 to 2022. The research is characterized as an exploratory study of a quantitative, bibliometric nature, of online documentary analysis in the databases of Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus data, with the help of VOSviewer software. The discussion identified an evolving field of study, whose conceptual structure is aligned with the themes of cities, creative communities, culture, sustainability and politics. In recent years, the appreciation and recognition of culture for human development; Together, creativity as a renewable resource, combined with public policies, have become important tools for achieving the SDGs and achieving sustainability. The contributions of this study are in allowing us to visualize how the field of research on the association of creative economy and sustainable development is constituted, by exposing emerging themes and suggestions for future research, as well as pointing out directions for researchers from different areas (among them Administration , Economy, Social and Environmental Management), so that a greater number of studies can be developed and enable deeper discussion. Also noteworthy is the lack of empirical studies that investigate in practice how the association between themes occurs, and how they can be evaluated and measured.

Educational innovations are considered fundamental in the field of education, but treated implicitly or tangentially in Management Education. Its academic production is still limited and fragmented, with a focus more guided by content and method. The advances made in other research fields demonstrate the breadth of the theme (new theorizations on teaching, new teaching pedagogies, new teaching structures and new supra-organizational teaching policies) and point to promising paths for rethinking educational innovation in administration. This paper aims to systematize the academic production on educational innovations in management education, integrating multidisciplinary contributions that provoke advances in future research. We seek to stimulate reflection on what can be considered educational innovation and the range of possibilities to renew research by considering propositions that reflect the ways of thinking and interacting of the social actors that make up the educational environment. The method involves a systematic review of academic production, whose results demonstrate categories that allow a better understanding of academic production (definitions, pedagogies, environments and demands) and integrate multidisciplinary knowledge (fundamentals, processes, spaces and technologies). The main contribution of the paper is to situate academic production in management education and provide paths for its renewal, considering disruptive innovation and sociomaterial aspects of the educational context.
