Show Abstract
This paper discusses the impact of technological undergraduate formation of human resources for clusters development in Brazil. This study deals with cluster and technological education concepts using a bibliographic research about Brazilian cluster experiences. During the last two decades, clusters (geographically concentrated and interconnected companies of specific segments) have been the focus of growing interest for companies, government and scholars due to the success of several clusters around the world, as well as in Brazil, on aspects such as competitiveness, longevity, job creation and innovation capacity. The study describes the Brazilian government efforts for export and import improvement, reflected in the Pluriannual Plan (2004-2007), and provides a reflection about the importance of education and training, technology development, institutions improvement, access to the capital markets, as well as to stress importance of the technologist formation (technological undergraduate formation) to the success of cluster systems.
