The triggering process and the entrepreneurship have been gradually gaining ground in the academic community as a field of study. However, the interpretations surrounding fragmented and continue without a universal definition. This reflection seeks to gather and present the main aspects related to entrepreneurship and dissect the process through a framework known as 4-P framework. Similarly, in recent decades, tourism has received greater attention from researchers in various sciences, varying only by the different emphases considered: economic, social, cultural and environmental. Tourism is one of the economic sectors in which a great degree of involvement is needed by the entrepreneurial sector: diversification of tourism products and services is needed to cope with increased demand for new types of tourism needs. As other emerging sectors in a modern economy, tourism is a dynamic and ever-changing industry. So, entrepreneurship and innovation are assumed as critical factors in its development, both globally and regionally (Russell & Faulkner, 2004). The study has as purpose to provide a better understanding regarding the essence of entrepreneurship: theoretical and practical implications (Ma & Tan, 2006) with a view to tourism. Entrepreneurship is considered a central force of economic development, as it generates growth and serves as a vehicle for innovation and change. Regarding the methodology used here, this is a conceptual paper with a literature review that brings together the major components of entrepreneurship and its implications tourist perspective and conceptual model of the dynamic nature of the Triggering Process and innovation (e.g. eTourism, augmented reality systems and electronic applicability of cyberspace). An interdisciplinary perspective, this study aims to understand the distinctive dynamics and creation process in the management of tourist destinations, proposing the empirical application of the illustrative conceptual model of the dynamic nature of the Triggering Process in specific tourism contexts (e.g. business tourism, nature tourism, city breaks). Using structural equation modeling, it is expected that the study will allow to test the theory of causal order between the set of variables to propose. In the end, there shall be a reflection on the subject with the model's explanation to apply a targeted tourism perspective, discussing lines of future research.

Bars, restaurants and nightclubs represent an important segment in the tourism context, especially given its economic and social impact. However, few studies have associated the elements that could explain its competitive bases, specifically, knowledge management (KM), innovativeness (IN) and organizational creativity (OC) and, consequently, innovative performance (IP). Therefore, the present study seeks to find relationships between these elements and revenues in these segments. It is an exploratory study which employed multiple correspondence analysis, conducted on a sample of 60 companies in these segments in Curitiba - PR, which indicated that the bars, restaurants and nightclubs that more intensely perceive the KM practices, IN and OC are those with a higher IP and also register higher classes billing.

Women have gained more and more space in various professional areas and this development also occurs in the field of entrepreneurship. In Brazil GEM 2013 identified for the first time, that the number of new woman entrepreneurs was higher than male entrepreneurs. However, it is recognized that women entrepreneurs face many difficulties when trying to reconcile their companies with the family. The main objective of this research is to analyse the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs of travel agencies to reconcile the conflict between work and family. This study adopted the multiple cases research strategy and were selected seven women creators and managers of travel agencies in the cities of Aracaju and the Barra dos Coqueiros, in the state of Sergipe (east coast of Brazil). In an attempt to reconcile well the multiple roles these women often face the frustration and guilt. At this moment, it shows the importance of emotional contribution of husband and children. It is noticed that the search for balance between the conflicting demands generate emotional distress and / or physical.

This paper intends to investigate the scientific literature on the relation between tourism and technology clusters (TourTech) in promoting local development on the databases Business Source Complete of the Online Research Databases (EBSCO) and Leisure Tourism Database (CABI) until the year 2014. With a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative), the research is classified as descriptive and bibliographic. The strategy adopted for data collection used bibliometric criteria and the data analysis applied was content analysis. The results showed that there are some possible theoretical gaps to be developed: not only about the conection between tourism clusters and technology clusters for local development, but also the relation between tourism and technology clusters and their impact to promote innovation that can improve the local development and finally, how the investments to develop a cluster individually can impact on the development of the other.

This article aims to analyze the absorptive capacity of travel agencies, based on the absorptive capacity model of Zahra and George (2002). The research is justified given the representativeness of the tourism sector in the service sector and the need for innovation measures closer to the sector’s specificities and focused on the dynamic capabilities of these companies. The study is quantitative, following an exploratory and descriptive approach. We performed a survey, with the questionnaire as our data collection instrument was. The research was conducted with the travel agencies affiliated to ABAV Sergipe - Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies in the State of Sergipe, initially totaling 50 listed companies, of which 08 were unable to participate, so that we obtained a total of 42 (84%) respondents, including the travel agencies located in the interior of the State. The tabulation and analysis were made with the help of softwares such as IBM SPSS Statistics 19, Minitab 17 and Microsoft Excel 2007. The results showed that creative imitation is a major source of innovation for the agencies of the State of Sergipe and a result of their relationship with clients as well as with other companies, whether competitors or suppliers, which makes these companies open to new knowledge. The agencies surveyed also create informal networks ensuring that the knowledge and information they need are transmitted within the organization in a fast and dynamic fashion. As a contribution, the article advances the literature on innovation and tourism, by studying innovation from a different perspective of the shumpeterian one, proposing an alternative analytical lens.

Experience on country brand website and the formation of tourist destination image: a study in Iceland

The research aims to verify if the experience with country brands website influences the image and attractiveness of a touristic destination in the consumers’ minds as also in their intention to visit the destination. A pre-test/post-test pre-experimental study with a 30 undergraduate students sample in a university of São Paulo was conducted. The treatment consisted of exposing the subjects to the Iceland official touristic site. The dependent variables were the touristic attractiveness perception and the intention to visit Iceland. The evaluation of the browsing experience was measured using scales of online consumer behavior literature. The two hypotheses were: (1) that positive online experience positively influences the destination image formation and (2) positively influences the intention of visit, were supported by statistical means comparison tests before and after treatment. The content analysis of the open question, performed after treatment, showed the effect that the knowledge acquired by pleasurable navigation have in shaping the image and increasing the intention of visiting a touristic destination.

This paper presents partial results of a research on tourism public policy in the Amazon. The research aims at identifying the active participants in the processes that influenced the formulation of Para state tourism public policy. It used as a theoretical reference the Multiple Streams Model of Kingdon. The empirical evidences were obtained from the document reviews about policies and their decision streams, as much as the semi-structured interviews with a public manager of tourism and the representative of the consulting firm; as well as the analysis of the minutes of the State Tourism Forum where the opinions of other participants in the decision making process are recorded. The results indicate that the alternatives for the development of tourism in this state have been materialized in the Plan "Ver-o-Pará"; that the active participants are also pointed out in it; that the performance of some actors that integrated Multiple Streams Model has not been identified; and that the alternatives depended on the streams of problems, policies and politics. It is concluded that some of the actors listed in the Plan are not part of the Multiple Streams Model and the existence of a distinct factor of this model demonstrated, guidelines and determinations of the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism, which influences the flow of public policies and politics.

Argentina´s industrial development which started at the end of 19th century and suffered a drop in 1970 decade has left numerous real state and private properties spread in the national territory. It`s feasible to use them through Industrial Tourism as a mechanism to economically and socially reactivate abandoned spaces and in crisis, but also as a way to revitalize their identity and culture recovering a part of their history. Exploratory and descriptive methodology implied a reconnaissance of industrial properties located in Barracas neighborhood from Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, applying variables to determine the state and touristic-recreational potentiality by means of Likert scale. As a result 68 places were selected and after utilizing the variables 24 sites remained, which were organized to prepare an Industrial Tourist Circuit that could complement Buenos Aires cultural offer.

The islands or island states have physical characteristics that make them attractive to the visitation, its specificities are conducive to the practice of various tourist modalities, especially those using the natural attractions. The island environments are considered fragile and can easily suffer the degradation of their ecosystems. The causes of this degradation can be caused by humans or from natural processes. In this sense, the present study aimed to identify the activities that are being sold in six Brazilian tourist islands. To conduct the research , information was collected from sites of destinations, then was developed an on-line questionnaire and sent to 30 incoming agencies of the six islands in order to obtain an overview. The results obtained in this paper concluded that some of the activities cited by respondents as frequent, have high potential for negative environmental impact and require more planning or even its prohibition, by not be consistent with the fragility of the island environment.

This present study aims to discuss the concept of both sustainability and hospitality into the context of city contemporary architecture which, in a certain way had been reinterpreted or asked in what is concerned to the concept of environmental sustainability. In this sense, the main goal of the research was to analyze two hotel projects in Santa Catarina, Brazil, been one of them configured as a small sized one and the other as a big hotel, where all the mentioned conditions had been manifested in a tight way and even had not been systematized into one of the hotel architecture samples, as a reference of sustainable and hospitable architecture. The methodology characterized by an initial bibliographic study, as well as documentary study, followed by a field research characterized by an intensive direct observation, as well as a group and systematic one, also considered both observation and questionnaires application (Marconi & Lakatos, 2006) and it tried to rescue the history of hotel architecture in order to identify environmental sustainability contents, as well as hospitality ones, concerned to the constructed spaces, so that it would be possible, in a following moment, to analyze the hotel samples selected, which do manifest all the mentioned conditions. It was realized that considering its realities and sizes, both studied hotels do count with actions and elements that may be considered sustainable, as well as friendly environmental actions, what, doubtless, do provide hospitality in a certain way. Similarly, both hotels still have potentialities to be developed.
