Managers are the outcomes of production systems rationality designed. The manager as outcome is a mix of knowledge, skills and behavior pattern whose utility is directly proportional to the consistency of your professional formation, just the production systems rationality designed. Thus, this paper aims to present a systematic evaluation of learning based on managerial process functions: planning, organization, directing and control. It consist of ten steps: definition of knowledge to be evaluate; definition of skills to be evaluate; choosing of test framework; writing of questions; definition of test solution norms; evaluation pre-test; testing; organization of data; evaluation of results; and analyzing the causes of failure and replanning. The results show that manager formation process can be optimized if higher education institutions use the system in accordance with the course objectives.

Moral Harassment, besides being a great challenge for the field of people management, is considered a serious problem within organizations, because it indicates, in most cases, the structural failures resulting from deliberate action or omission from the responsible managers. The discussion of the matter is of great importance, since it allows for stimulating debate about the causes of the incidence of moral harassment in the workplace as well as possible strategies to prevent the problem. Accordingly, this study aimed to conduct a survey of companies operating in the north of Paraná, in order to have a parameter of how they are experiencing moral harassment and how they are trying to fight it. To examine the raised issues, we opted for a non-probabilistic intentional sample, composed of five major companies that received awards in recent years directed to their people management policies. This criterion was relevant as companies sought to possess Human Resources policies that have proven effective along with explicit concern for the quality of life of employees and their working environment. The results showed that these organizations have a range of policies that address the relationships among employees in the workplace and these are considered strong instruments for the prevention of moral harassment. However, they do not have specific policies to fight the discussed phenomenon.

The purpose of this paper is to present how innovation networks can be used to develop a new product or service, using the marketing compound. The study methodology consists of an exploratory research from literature review on this subject. After an initial discussion of the characteristics of innovation networks and marketing functions, the study presents proposals that allow adequately addressing the main difficulties in the management of marketing in innovation networks. Through this study it can be stated that these networks have been identified as an attractive alternative for the development of new products, when using the marketing mix, given the dynamics of the contemporary market. Innovation networks bring a lot of benefits to companies that embrace the relationship between these networks and marketing. The discussion reveals that the structure in the form of innovation networks can bring effective results in the organization which adopt it, providing competitiveness and adaptability in the face of its target market.

In world of work there are many transformations associate with person and performance. In this scenario, the discussion about competences is useful, specially in the human resources practices adopted in the public sector. So, this research wanted to investigated, considering a review of literature and interviews with publics managers, how are the articulation between these subjects. Some results demonstrated that the way to implementation is beginning, however, the trajectory is long and with big difficulties such as culture and another vision and the necessity a new human resources practices implementation.

Supplies costs: an exploratory study with application of measurement model of logistics costs

One of the main reasons for the difficulty in adopting an integrated method of calculation of logistics costs is still a lack of adequate information about costs. The management of the supply chain and identify its costs can provide information for their managers, with regard to decision making, generating competitive advantage. Some models of calculating logistics costs are proposed by Uelze (1974), Dias (1996), Goldratt (2002), Christopher (2007), Castiglioni (2009) and Borba & Gibbon (2009), with little disclosure of the results. In this context, this study aims to evaluate the costs of supplies, applying a measurement model of logistics costs. Methodologically, the study characterized as exploratory. The model applied pointed, in original condition, that about R$ 2.5 million were being applied in the process of management of supplies, with replacement costs and storage imbalance. Upgrading the company’s data, it is possible obtain a 52% reduction in costs to replace and store supplies. Thus, the cost model applied to logistical supplies showed feasibility of implementation, as well as providing information to assist in management and decision-making in logistics supply.

The present paper had as objective to map the Brazilian scientific production on Technology and Innovation Management (GTI) in the period 2001-2011, in view of identifying (i) the total number to published articles, as well as the number in each of the years; (ii, iii, iv and v) journals, authors, institutions and states that have most published articles. This study is justified because literature says that GTI studies may help countries to achieve higher levels of entrepreneurial innovation and technology performance, since these studies are absorbed by the companies and innovation incentive agencies. Thus, knowing how scientific production has been occurring in the country is an aspect of relevance for the governmental agencies that incentive entrepreneurial innovation in the country. This knowledge is also important for researchers, due to several other reasons. The mapping was made through a bibliometric method. The results show that the Brazilian scientific production on GTI is not very large, in terms of number, and it is too concentrated (in terms of institutions and territory), factors that certainly hinder the dissemination and rooting of an innovation culture in Brazil. From the results, it was also possible to verify that in the locations where GTI scientific production is more strongly concentrated the levels of technological, economic and social development are quite higher than the national average, which elucidates the mentioned relevance of the GTI scientific production.

From the observational analysis of risk maps and instrument data collection, we implemented improvements in local. Through the results, it was noted that the implementations have been significant and that changes are needed to reduce occupational disorders, promoting better quality of life for clinical professionals.

This article aims at describing how conflicts and operational hurdles manifest themselves in the management of innovative projects in a development bank (DB). The research characterizes itself as a qualitative and exploratory approach; the data collection consisted of interviews with consultants and project managers and by documents on management projects in Development Bank; the interviews have undergone the content analysis by utilizing the Atlas.ti. The research revealed that the project management in its new implemented model faces difficulties similar to those observed in traditional hierarchies. It was observed that conflicts regarding interests, values, psychological aspects and operational hurdles are intrinsic to the life cycle of innovative projects, which implementation requires a lot of political capacity from their leaders to be effective.

The emergence of the identity of the homosexual modern consumer, favored by the social, economic and psychological conditions produced by capitalism, allowed homosexuals to feel free to express their identity, among other ways through the use of products and services. Thus, understanding what stimulates the consumption of a specific product category by this market niche is no doubt of great importance for the companies that intend to serve this public, considering their attractive consumption profile. This stimulated this exploratory qualitative study, that seeked to identify the relationship between luxury clothing consumption by homosexual men and the development of their extended self, and well as their self image construction. The four steps of the research, done with 12 men, were literature review, in-depth interviews, the filling of two forms (one with Likert scale and the other with a semantic scale), and the analysis of the results. The conclusion is that self concept directly influences the buying behavior of male homosexuals, and that most of the interviewees actually use luxury brands clothes to compose their extended selves.

This study aims to identify the innovation process used by the open capital Brazilian companies and establish a ranking of the potentially innovative ones. For this, a questionnaire was sent to 484 companies with shares traded in Bovespa, receiving a response from 22. The innovation process is based on the model of Barrett and Sexton (2006). A summary of the results is presented below. (i) Organizational Capabilities – 95.5% answered that they have incentives for innovation activities and 68.2% reported having procedures for all services. The leadership has a facilitator role encouraging the initiative (86.4%) and promotes the maintenance of the group relationship (72.7%). Value risk taking, even through failures and prioritize the learning and experimenting new ideas. (ii) Background of the innovation – reveals aspects of the capacity (internal) or (external). Of the respondents, 59.1% developed internal activities of continuing P & D. Training to innovate is present in a continuous or occasional basis in 81.8% of the companies. The respondents characterize the economic environment as dynamic and the majority purchased software and equipments. In only 12 opportunities was a reference to obtaining patents as innovation protection measure. (iii) Focus of innovation – the majority of the companies mentioned process or product innovation. Rewards are offered when the objectives are met and it is brought to attention when this does not occur. (iv) Highlighted performance – the innovations achieved the expectations and created effects. The relevant benefits noticed were: improvement in quality of goods and services, increase of market share, increase of goods and services, and increase of productive capacity.

The main objective of this paper is to analyze the characteristics of the strategic people management, the strategy of retention of professional and of obtaining of organizational commitment, by taking up basis the case of Caulim da Amazônia S.A. – CADAM/Pará Pigmentos S.A. – PPSA and seeking to answer the question: what are the characteristics of the strategic management of people, focusing on retention strategy of professional and obtaining of organizational commitment in their peculiarities of remote organizational structure? The research subjects are directors, managers, HR professionals, supervisors and coordinators of units Ipixuna, Monte Dourado and Barcarena, located in northern region of Brazil, for a total of thirty-six respondents. The results show, at the interfaces of the three units, traits that unite people in all these places and around the same purpose: to retain talented professionals. One could say that, it becomes possible to identify the peculiarities that leads to commitment of people with the organizational objectives, these organizational structures, from the strategic approach of people management. The retention of professionals is conditioned on adaptive capacity of these professionals and their families in these regions.
