Show Abstract
People with disabilities face many difficulties to carry out almost all
social roles, specifically with regard to the role of consumers, these
people rarely have their needs met. In Brazil, this market is
represented by 24 million people with disabilities, of which 48% have
visual impairments. In the present study was defined as objective to
identify the most important service attributes and their corresponding
levels on the consumer experience for visually impaired people in
restaurants in the city of Rio de Janeiro in leisure’s times. To seek to
achieve this goal there were three focus groups involving 21 people
with disabilities. The results showed eight attributes, each with three
or two levels as more important to the consumer experience of visually
impaired people in restaurants, “menu”, “treatment”, “ambience”,
“table’s format”, “access to the waiter”; “occupation’s level”; “local
“and “food”. From this result, it is noticed that restaurants are not
equipped to receive people with visual impairments.
