A evolução do conhecimento nas áreas de inovação e sustentabilidade surge de um processo dinâmico de consolidação de conceitos e teorias em pesquisas acadêmicas em todo mundo. Neste contexto o presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar a produção científica de artigos relacionados com inovação e sustentabilidade, por meio das análises de redes semânticas. Utilizou-se uma metodologia quantitativa, exploratória, bibliométrica, longitudinal, adotando as análises de redes semânticas para, através da métrica betweenness centrality estabelecer padrões e tendências de documentos científicos completos. A base utilizada se constitui de 1054 artigos completos da base de dados Web of Science. Os resultados indicam possíveis contribuições da pesquisa em duas principais vertentes. A primeira é teórica, onde os resultados da pesquisa auxiliam a exploração da área estudada ao longo do tempo. A segunda vertente é prática, uma vez que a metodologia utilizada pode ser um importante instrumento para compreender uma área cientifica extensa e complexa.
