Uma década de pesquisas sobre liderança e seus efeitos na criatividade-inovação: uma revisão sistemática e narrativa da literatura

Objetivo – Neste estudo, revisamos dez anos de pesquisas que investigaram as conexões entre liderança, criatividade e inovação (L-C/I). Nosso principal objetivo é realizar uma revisão sistemática da literatura para melhor compreender as associações entre liderança e inovação/criatividade, analisando o conhecimento até então desenvolvido para abordar os mecanismos pelos quais os dois fenômenos estão conectados. Referencial teórico – Apresentamos e analisamos as definições conceituais dos três construtos envolvidos em nossa revisão – liderança, criatividade e inovação. Também destacamos brevemente as principais teorias e perspectivas da liderança, seus elementos-chave conceituais e sua interface com a criatividade/inovação. Metodologia – Aplicamos uma combinação de metodologias sistemáticas e narrativas de revisão com bibliometria, sem precedentes em seu foco, profundidade e amplitude. Investigamos uma amostra de 2.724 artigos publicados sobre as interseções entre L-C/I, analisando em profundidade 113 artigos publicados nas 27 principais revistas de administração. Resultados – Observamos um crescimento acelerado nas pesquisas sobre o tema. A maioria dos estudos aborda os efeitos da liderança na criatividade, ao passo que suas conexões com a inovação ainda precisam ser mais bem compreendidas. A liderança transformacional é a principal perspectiva dos pesquisadores, com o surgimento de estudos que aplicam abordagens da teoria da troca líder-membro (LMX, leader-member exchange), de empreendedorismo e de liderança positiva. Embora alguns mediadores e moderadores tenham sido explorados, permanece a necessidade de construir estruturas abrangentes capazes de lidar com a complexidade da questão. Os projetos de estudo transversais predominam e os poucos estudos experimentais dependem principalmente de amostras de alunos. Implicações práticas e sociais da pesquisa – Discutimos as possibilidades e limitações do conhecimento atual, sintetizamos lacunas existentes na pesquisa e oferecemos orientação para expandir ainda mais as fronteiras do conhecimento. Contribuímos também para fomentar estudos mais sistemáticos que evitem redundâncias e proliferação desenfreada de construtos e promovam a robustez teórica e metodológica que a área merece. Contribuições – O estudo aplica uma combinação de metodologias de revisão sistemática e narrativa com bibliometria, únicas em seu foco, profundidade e amplitude, oferecendo assim uma contribuição diferenciada e consolidando pesquisas com abordagens variadas, enquanto identifica lacunas para inspirar pesquisas futuras que podem trazer impulso no campo.
