A Influência da Capacidade de Gerenciamento de Informações nas Vantagens Sustentáveis das Empresas: Um Estudo de Casos Múltiplos com Empresas Líderes do Mercado Brasileiro

Resumo:
Objetivo – O objetivo do presente estudo é avaliar a influência da capacidade de gerenciamento de informações na vantagem competitiva sustentável das empresas, com base na abordagem qualitativa. Metodologia – Este estudo apresenta os resultados de um estudo de casos múltiplos realizado em três empresas líderes em seu respectivo setor no Brasil (uma cooperativa de crédito, uma varejista de moda e uma fabricante de móveis). Resultados – Os resultados apontam para uma série de conexões entre essas capacidades do sistema de informação (gerenciamento e integração de informações) e as capacidades organizacionais (flexibilidade, reconfigurações e agilidade), que foram observadas por meio da análise de conteúdo aplicada à intercorrência das categorias intermediárias dessas capacidades. Contribuições – O impacto estratégico dos recursos e capacidades da tecnologia da informação continua sendo uma fonte de controvérsia na literatura. O presente estudo contribui com a literatura sobre gerenciamento de sistemas de informação por vantagem competitiva sustentável. É influenciado por recursos e habilidades relacionadas à informação, e não apenas a recursos tecnológicos.
